The Bailiff (Sir Alexander Coutanche) held a key position within the local government of Jersey during the Occupation. The files in this collection include imports and exports, licensing, entertainment, deportees, the Red Cross and rationing.

Immigration and nationality - Registration cards
The entire civil population had to register. The official set of cards (about 33,000 people were registered) includes name, address, date of birth and a photograph. Children under 14 are listed on their father's card.
